After a successful writing workshop for 12 weeks, The Erotics (Eros Atalia workshoppers) decided to collate their edited and polished works during the workshop and release the book in the market.

The self-published book, “Unang Putok: Antolohiya ng Eros Atalia Fiction Writing Workshop” will officially be launched at St. Raymund’s de Penafort Building, rooms 114 and 116, on the afternoon of September 28, 2013, Saturday from 3pm to 6pm.

Unang Putok, a collection of 30 short stories of different genres by 15 young writers.

11 out of 15 writers are Thomasians, and 6 are currently students of the university:

  • Ryan Arioja (Faculty of Engineering, 3rd year – Computer Science)
  • Marie Giselle Dela Cruz (Faculty of Arts and Letters, 4th year – Communication Arts)
  • Iza Maria Gonzalez (Faculty of Arts and Letters, 4th year – Journalism)
  • Christine Emano (Faculty of Arts and Letters, 4th year – Journalism)
  • Merl Peroz (Faculty of Arts and Letters, 4th year – Journalism)
  • Rijel Reyes (Faculty of Arts and Letters, 4th year – Journalism)

While 5 are alumnae of UST:

  • Peaches Aceron (Journalism, 2007)
  • Sherina Mae Inza-Cruz (Communication Arts, 2013)
  • Emicon Medenilla (Journalism, 2011)
  • John Carlo Pacala (Political Science, 2013)
  • Jen Karen Tan (Computer Science, 2011)

Known and prolific writers will be speaking in the event. Among them are Eros Atalia, Carlomar Daona, Chuckberry Pascual, Isagani Cruz, and Jun Cruz Reyes.

AIESEC University of Santo Tomas, on its 4th year in the University, brings to you the Thomasian Global Village: Breaking Boundaries — an afternoon event filled with activities and cultural presentation that will satisfy the wanderlust in every Thomasian student.

 
With the ASEAN 2015 paving way for more opportunities for the Filipinos, the youth is becoming more enamored with the concept of Globalization and the interesting study of cultural complexities of other countries.

 
This August 1, AIESEC UST, in partnership with International Students Association (ISA), will bring the world to the Thomasians at the Quadricentennial Park wherein they can experience interacting with youth from other countries who are currently here in the Philippines for volunteer work for the projects of AIESEC UST and other universities.

 
Booths showcasing the best of European and Asian countries and cultural presentation, games and a fashion show will allow the Thomasians to know more about countries like Germany, Pakistan, Vietnam, Russia and Indonesia, among others.

 
Understanding and embracing cultural differences are the aims of this festive celebration of cultural diversity. “AIESECers” believe through this event, the Thomasian community may enjoy, learn, and appreciate the cultures of the world.
