What makes a person “ideal”?
For me, 3 things qualify for an ideal person.
1.) One must be down to earth. No pretenses, just pure honesty;
2.) She should value her family, education, but above all, God;
3.) She should stay true to her values despite the challenges that may come her way.
How do you practice faith as a Thomasian?
“I believe that faith can be expressed through gratitude, and I like to spread positivity as a way of thanking the Lord for the many blessings He’s given me. It’s not always easy, but I try my best to nurture and strengthen my faith by embodying the resilience, grace and perseverance of a Thomasian in facing everyday struggles.
I try to take things on with as sunny a disposition as possible; and instead of complaining, I share my time and love with the people around me to remind myself of every wonderful thing He’s put into my life.”
How can you promote peace in your community?
I’m a strong believer in the saying “peace comes from within”, so I make a conscious effort to exude calmness and composure in times of distress. I can’t stand conflict and am probably the gentlest giant you’ll ever meet in your entire life! Though firm when I need to be, I always rely on communication, sensitivity and compromise to iron out sticky situations.
Why should the Thomasian community vote for you?:
“Average is knowing that you don’t receive respect, you earn it. And that you aren’t given the opportunity, you fight for it. And if anyone tries to tell you different, they are lying.”
All my life, I thought being average was my greatest weakness. However, it turned out to be the very source of all my strength. It pushed me further than I ever thought I could go. I’ve learned to be happy with who I am. And I learned to be brave.
Thanks to all my mistakes and shortcomings, I learned how to live. I think that the Thomasian community should vote for me because I truly represent the students in this university: those who strive to succeed, those who fall and rise up again and lastly, those who are, all in all, extraordinary.
