Upon entering the lobby, Fr. Rev. Herminio Dagohoy O.P. welcomed the guests as the night’s host backed with an ambient aura of music and champagne to start the night.

After having their dinner at the UST Museum, the guests were serenaded by the award-winning University of Santo Tomas Singers under the baton of Prof. Fidel G. Calalang Jr., as they sang “Buhay” and “Tuwing Umuulan.”

To cap the night, the guests were given pieces of the mural entitled “Grace-filled Thomasian Sky” by Michael Blanco, the curator of the Blanco Family Museum and part of the Blanco Family of Artists.

THE Guild of Thomasian Speducators (GuTS), in cooperation with the Ateneo Special Education Society (Ateneo SPEED), held a prom night for special children last February 23, 2013 at The Grand Terrace, Commonwealth.

The event, ‘Splendour,’ was an opportunity for the special children to experience a real prom night, with partners coming from either organizations. “We also want to see their independence from their parents, like eating alone,” says Sarah Bolano of GuTS, the project head of the said event. She also added that this may help the children develop their social skills.
