Basta Tomasino… Tulong Tulong

September 26, 2009 reminds many Filipinos a day of fright, struggle, and loss. Everyone was surprised when a Tropical Depression caused a month-long amount of rainfall and has put Metro Manila in a State of Calamity.

Typhoon Ondoy brought flash floods even in places that rarely experiences floods. Because of this, many people were stranded overnight in their non-comfort zones like schools, public vehicles, foot bridges, and even in the streets. But what’s most heart-breaking is the fact that many people lost their comfort zones because of the typhoon’s aftermath.

Ondoy surely made many Filipinos grieve for valuables and loved ones they have lost, but Ondoy did not prevent kind-hearted people help the victims of the typhoon move on and somehow experience immediate comfort.

There are Thomasians who were badly affected by the typhoon. That is why the Central Student Council and Student’s Organization Coordinating Council organized a relief operation that prioritizes the needs of fellow Thomasians. The operation was started last September 29, 2009, Tuesday, at the Tan Yan Kee Students’ Affairs Building and will last for a week.

For those who are interested to donate and lend a helping hand, kindly bring the following to the TYK Students’ Affairs Building:

1.    Clothes
2.    Leather or Rubber shoes
3.    School Supplies
4.    Beddings
