A New Face of the Military Unveils on 3-17-10

THE College of Tourism and Hospitality Management Class 3T1 in cooperation with the Armed Forces of the Philippines – Philippine Army proudly brings you an event convention themed “Military Tourism: A Gateway to the Other Shade of the Camouflage” in light of the course Meetings and Events Management on March 17, 2010, Wednesday, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at the Clamshell I, Intramuros, Manila.


Whilst tourists seem to have greater demands in this day and age, travel agents incessantly devise innovative ways to bring forth a new face of recreation. Tracing its roots from Ukraine and Russia, military tourism is undoubtedly a fresh avenue to incite interest from enthusiastic tourists and to likewise eradicate violent connotations ascribed by mainstream society to the military per se.


Invited speakers from the Department of National Defense will tackle about varied military heritage sites to inculcate new learning and knowledge to the studentry about the linkages between the military and tourism industry. Moreover, an exhibit will feature some of Philippine’s finest military heritage spots that which includes Corregidor, Fort Santiago, Shrine of Valour and McArthur Park. Bordering on the recreational side of military tourism, students will be given a pleasurable way to have a first-hand experience of being a rank-and-file soldier through various activities like target shooting, tank riding and an obstacle course. The Philippine Marine Combo would likewise be invited to showcase their other God-given talents to the audience. Aside from all these would be an inclusion of a fashion show featuring students from the different classes of the college to be clad in military-inspired ensembles.


Such event would be participated in by classes ranging from the freshmen to the juniors of the said college. Admission tickets are reasonably priced at Php 600.00.
