What is Lace Up?
Lace Up is a major fund-raising event of the UST-Clinical Pharmacy Society (UST-CPS) that has been held for the past three years. All fund-raising projects of the UST-CPS are for the benefit of the numerous communities adopted by the organization.
On its third year, Lace Up is adding a splashing and shivering kinds of twist! It features an extraordinary marathon with unusual obstacles that will make you go gaga!

WE DEFINITELY ENCOURAGE COSTUMES LIKE MERMAIDS, DUGONG OR EVEN A RANDOM POKEMON! You might just be the sparkling star of the event!

What is the course like?
Runners will pass through OBSTACLE and SPLASH zones with water BOMBS. There will be three OBSTACLE ZONES.
After every obstacle, there will be SPLASH ZONES where you can locate water showers, water guns and water balloons.
Runners are also encouraged to load their water guns in splash zones to splash their friends and strangers! Make new friends by targeting them with water while running. AWESOME! Isn’t it?

OBSTACLE LOCATION
First: LIMBO-RACK Quezon Drive (beside Plaza de Benavides
Second: GARTER WALL WEB      Front of Tan Yan Kee building
Third: Three-distanced ROPES Front of Santissimo Rosario Church

Is the race timed?
Did I just mention that this is an extraordinary marathon? Then why would you need a timer? Come on, you might end up spending more time on the obstacles having fun than actually race, for at least most of the time. Although this is still a race, so it’s all up to you!

MECHANICS
This is not just your typical marathon. Though you are still running, you need to finish the Obstacle Zones and pass through the Splash Zones.
To finish the race, you need to do 3 lapses and surpass the obstacle and splash zones.

1. Runners will be divided into three batches and need to accomplish three laps. (Runners are given the option to choose which batch they prefer to be in.)
2. Upon water explosion, the first batch of runners starts their bid to win the title. A “WATER EXPLOSION” will signal the start of the race. The first WATER EXPLOSION for the first batch, a second WATER EXPLOSION for the second batch and so on.
3. Lap markers will be given after each lap.

LAP MARKERS
1st lap: Red
2nd lap: Blue
3rd lap: Green

4. Two flags (per batch color) will be placed at finish line. The first 2 runners to get across the finish line and obtain the flags will win the race. (Important Notice: Lap markers and flags should be surrendered at the end of the race).

WINNING FLAGS (at the finish line)
1st batch: Red
2nd batch: Blue
3rd batch: Green

How to win?
Runners must perform all the obstacle zones. The winner will be determined by whoever runner, whether wet or dry, can cross the finish line first with complete set of lap markers and first to get the assigned flags. There will be two winners per batch. Exciting! We cannot wait and we are sure so as you! So be the winner we are looking for. Sign up for Lace Up and invite more friends.
This will be FUN. This will be WET. This will be WILD. We promise!

EVENT WILL STILL TAKE PLACE, RAIN OR SHINE.
WEAR PROPER RUNNING SHOES.
EXPECT TO BE WET.
