Engineering students flaunt their multimedia creativity as they held the Engineering Docufest 2010 entitled “Bidas Uncovered” last February 11, 2010 at the Albertus Magnus Auditorium.

The Docufest was hosted by Alex Valcos and Justine Concepcion and the event was headed by Loreen Del Rosario. With its title “Bida’s Uncovered”, the objective of this year’s theme was to roll the spot light on the unnoticed yet essential personas in the University.

The “Bidas Uncovered” acclaimed the Information Systems Society as the first placer with their reenactment type of documentary entitled “Dalawang Daang Piso”. Their entry unveiled the success and struggles of Nelson Gulpan, a janitor assigned in the Faculty of Engineering. On second and third place were Mechanical Engineering Society (MES) and Computer Science Society (CSS) respectively.

The MES entry was about the life of Claudillo Bagadiong, a Kuya Deo and a friend to the many Mechanical Engineering students who assists them in the UST Mechanical Shop. The CSS documentary on the other hand was entitled “Sekyu”, which presented the hustle and bustle in the life of Jovie Lumontod, a security guard assigned in the St. Roque Ruaño Building (Engineering buidling)(Engineering buidling)

Seven majors from the Faculty of Engineering joined the Docufest namely Chemical Engineering Society, Computer Science Society, Industrial Engineering Department, Information Systems Society, Mechanical Engineering Society, Network of Electronics and Communications Engineering Students, and one local based organization, the Thomasian Engineering Media. The panel of judges were composed of four members namely, Goldwin Gan, incumbent Treasurer of the Communication Arts Students’ Association and Auditor to the Tomasino Web, and Bianca Camille Santos, Talent’s Head to the Thomasian Cable Television and DJ of E-Radio. The other two were Prof. Gertrudes Callangan and Prof. Anderson Tuguinay, both a member of the Faculty of Engineering.
