What qualifies you to be the first Thomasian Youth Ambassadress?
“Being an ambassadress calls for an unselfish attitude with the primary aim of highlighting her advocacies with complete disregard of making herself known. I believe that the unselfish and humble nature is something that each Thomasian has. This is what makes me and every other candidate qualified.”
How do you value education?
“Being a Santo Tomas scholar, I have always taken pride in making education one of my life’s highest priorities. Aside from performing my duties as a student and making the most out of every learning situation, I seek for other opportunities where I can develop myself holistically. I give as much importance to experience and other aspects of my well-being as I do to academic excellence because I believe that “not everything worth knowing can be taught.”
How can you share the light of education to the indigenous people?
“I can share the light of education to indigenous people by taking every chance I have to dedicate what I have and who I am to help them out- be it by becoming a good role model, by donating my old books, or even by tutoring during community outreach programs. The biggest step I’ve taken towards this advocacy is by becoming a World Vision sponsor and making a lifelong commitment to support the education of two children. It is fulfilling to know that through such efforts, I am able to share one of life’s greatest gifts and make a difference in their future.”
Why should the Thomasian community vote for you?
“What I like about this competition is that it has been modified from a mere showcase of beauty to something that has a greater sense of purpose- one that reaches out to the scholars of the BUTIL program. As people vote, I believe that they should keep in mind the better good of the beneficiaries. Vote as you please if you deem me, and more importantly so, my proposal worthy of it.”
