What qualifies you to be the first Thomasian Youth Ambassador?

“What qualifies me to be a thomasian youth ambassador are the thomasian values that have been innate in me. To be thomasian is to be humble, compassionate, empathetic, and determined in any field that he/she is in. I believe that these values are the foundations that make us candidates qualify for such a shot. We all qualify for the title, but with my passion to influence and my drive to achieve, I think I have a fair chance.”

How do you value education?

“I, as a person enjoy the beauties of life and creation. My curiosity to understand and witness my Architect’s Grand design is what drives me to learn, and what keeps me going is my unending passion to help my fellow man. Education is my tool to extend a helping hand, to branch out its reach, and spread God’s graces. This is what I am called to do, what He has willed me to do, and this is why I value education.”

How can you share the light of education to the indigenous people?

“One way of me sharing the light on the subject is showing the indigenous how education can fill in the gaps, and how it can satisfy those unmet needs that they are facing. Introjecting the need for education, however, will be difficult because education opens many doors, and some cultures may not readily accept them and neither should we force it upon them. Our responsibility as educated people of society is to share our blessings and to extend our help, but if our perspectives our denied then we must continue helping them, and give them the respect that they are due.”

Why should the Thomasian community vote for you?

“I cannot tell that I deserve the communities vote because that is for the community to decide if I’m in fact truly deserving. I, however, will tell you that I believe in my values, in my drive to learn, in my passion to help, and in my faith in God. If that is enough for me to deserve the communities vote then that is their call, and that is God’s will.”

How do you value education?

“Education is not merely the installment of knowledge, but the inspiration to the constant pursuit to enlightenment in one’s lifetime. True education is constantly present in the life of a man. In the end, what truly matters is how one appreciates and nourishes his personal growth with what the world has to offer him, and that is what must be known by all, that living is learning.”

How can you share the light of education to the indigenous people?

“Sharing is to connect with others, requiring only the simplest means of communication between two human beings, talking. Despite the lack of personal communication in the modern world, a short speech in a person’s mother tongue or a strong bond of friendship can provide impact consequential to a domino effect, giving ideas and information that would cascade to all generations within a community. Inspiring and also believing in our fellow natives to learn and be educated can do wonders and could yield to unimaginable results.”
